Our last crop of lambs is now complete. Like the first season seven years ago, it's a boys' club. Our first ram lamb, named Sebastian, was born Feb. 11, our last two ram lambs were born March 18.
Sebastian would be a great ram for a new flock. He is RR, since both of his parents were. In addition, his mother is our black ewe and has had only black lambs in past years. Absolutely no guarantee, but the offspring of Sebastion should have a good chance of being black, which a lot of buyers request. Since this is the final year for our flock, we are pricing Sebastian at only $250 (registration with NABSSAR, shots included), rather than the normal price of $450 or $500.
The two twin ram lambs born March 18 to Zeva and Gibbs are priced at only $200 each, regardless of whether they turn out to be RR or QR.
As we have said before, we are now ready to take orders for our two rams,
dual-registered, six-year-old Gibbs (RR) and four-year-old Paddy, also RR. Gibbs was acquired as a lamb from Babydoll Acres in Wauwatoma, Wisconsin. Paddy is his offspring. We will also sell Tim, a black, six-year-old wether.
After the three lambs are weaned and sold, we will sell our two ewes: Zeva, who was among the first three lambs we acquired in 2013, and Rachel, our six-year-old black RR ewe purchased from Prairie Plum Farm in Mabel, Minnesota. Our mature rams and ewes have produced high-quality lambs annually and have some productive years left. We will miss them greatly and want them to find good homes. We've priced Zeva and Rachel AND Gibbs and Paddy at $200 each. Tim is available for $100 or the best offer.
One note: Tim and Rachel have been pals since Rachel came to Winterhaven. If a buyer were to purchase both, there would be no charge for Tim.
If you have questions, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at 414-732-7320. It's been a lot of fun raising this little flock, and sending off award-winning lambs to new owners in Wisconsin and Michigan. I'll miss my enjoyable "pets," especially Zeva.
